چکیده

We present the Green’s function method for a special class of linear self-consistent three-dimensional solutions of the magnetohydrostatic (MHS) equations for which the current density is a combination of a linear force-free part and a part with non-forc e-free components. This allows the construction of MHS solutions of this class with arbitrary photospheric boundary conditions for Bz . These solutions can be used to extrapolate coronal magnetic fields from known longitudinal photospheric field data and provide a self-consistent description of magnetic field, plasma pressure, plasma density and plasma temperature. The method therefore allows a better comparison of models with observations of solar coronal structures. We will demonstrate how the method works by giving an illustrative example.

A new method for calculating a special class of self-consistent three-dimensional magnetohydrostatic equilibria

A new mathematical formulation for calculating a special class of self-consistent three-dimensional magnetohydrostatic equilibria in Cartesian and spherical coordinates is presented. The method uses a representation of the magnetic field in terms of poloidal and toroidal field components which automatically guarantees the solenoidal character of the magnetic field. This representation is common...

Three-Dimensional Interfacial Green’s Function for Exponentially Graded Transversely Isotropic Bi-Materials

By virtue of a complete set of two displacement potentials, an analytical derivation of the elastostatic Green’s functions of an exponentially graded transversely isotropic bi-material full-space was presented. Three-dimensional point-load Green’s functions for stresses and displacements were given in line-integral representations. The formulation included a complete set of transformed stress-p...

Perturbative Approach to Calculating the Correlation Function of bi-isotropic Metamaterials

A bi-isotropic magneto-electric metamaterials is modeled by two independent reservoirs. The reservoirs contain a continuum of three dimensional harmonic oscillators, which describe polarizability and magnetizability of the medium. The paper aimed to investigate the effect of electromagnetic field on bi-isotropic. Starting with a total Lagrangian and using Euler-Lagrange equation, researcher cou...

Method of Green’s Function for Characterization of SH Waves in Porous-Piezo Composite Structure with a Point Source

An approach of Green’s function is adopted to solve the inhomogeneous linear differential equations representing wave equations in piezo-composite materials. In particular, transference of horizontally polarised shear (SH) waves is considered in bedded structure comprising of porous-piezo electric layer lying over a heterogeneous half-space. Propagation of SH-waves is considered to be influence...

Numerical Studies of Magnetohydrostatic Finite-Beta Stellarator Equilibria

Properties of finite-beta stellarator equilibria are investigated which are obtained as fully three-dimensional finite-beta solutions of the magnetohydrostatic boundary value problem with the help of the code by Bauer, Betancourt, and Garabedian based on the energy method. In the case of slender 1 — 2 stellarator equilibria the displacement of the magnetic axis as well as its helical deformatio...
